Cuenca

*I'll write in english and german alternately - so my english friends can read some stories, too. Lazy germans stick with it :p*
After a nine to ten hours bus ride yesterday, where we enjoyed the view of needletrees and cactusses we arrived in the cute town of Cuenca. Our hostel is very stylish with a very nice old lady as the owner. Despite being careful we had our first nearly-robbed-situation (not as worse as it sounds). We went to the modern arts museum in Cuenca and put down my name, for census. That's usual for all the free tourist stuff like information centers etc. but this time they asked for the housing as well and someone copied our informations and ringed the bell at our lodge. But the old lady told us later she didn't believe a word, so she hushed him away.

Besides that the city has a lot of nice old colonial houses and some panama hat factories -but we had a hard time finding the archeological site in town even when we were standing infront of it hahaha.

The other day we went on a little hike around the National Park of Cajas. Bad we did not see the birds, but the nature at 4000 meters (12000 feet) was green, chilly and humid. The walk through the treetrunks was worth my step in the mud.
