Safe and sound in Quito

Just a little post of us, we are safe at our destination. After a long flight from Madrid in an airplane that still has some in-seat-ashtrays, we finally arrived in Quito. The airplane was full of Slowenians and we met the couple behind us later on in the hostal.
As it is sunday it is very calm here, the city is charmingly lying inbetween mountains. A little run down on some places but still colorful and nice, old buildings which they really take care of. Our hostal has a rooftarrace so we could enjoy the view and fresh air from there. The weather is just right, not to hot and even not cold, but after going up and down the stairs for a few times, you can feel the height of the city. First thing after we checked in our hostal the electricity went down - due to overload. So Bernd made it to the heroe of the day having brought some flashligths with him. Tomorrow we will explore the city, we are already excited - then we will write some more.
